Over three decades ago, cancer entered my life. Not just once, but again and again – as a patient, as a loved one, as a caregiver. I learnt what it means to navigate a system that wasn't designed with people like me in mind. I could have let those experiences define me. Instead, I chose to let them refine me. Today, I'm the founder of Inspired To Soar, a consultancy on a mission to help everyone win through equity. I work at the intersection of lived experience and academic rigour – and that's what sets my work apart. I don't just research health inequities; I've lived them. I don't just teach about trauma; I've transformed through it.
