About Caryl

I am the Operations Manager at WarmZilla. My job is simple: keep our nationwide engine running without a hitch. Home services move fast. Every installation depends on customers, suppliers, and engineers working in sync. I build the systems that make that happen. Above all, I support the people behind them. I do my best work under pressure. This past summer, a heatwave triggered a surge in air conditioning orders. At the same time, parts ran out across the UK. I kept our team calm, shifted our fulfillment on the spot, and solved inventory bottlenecks. We kept jobs moving on time and customers happy. Good operations is not just about logistics. It is about absorbing chaos so the team can thrive.

Proudest achievements

  • I created the core operational processes our team still uses every day across the UK.
  • I directly manage the operations team members while leading 1:1s, leave, and pastoral care for marketing colleagues.
  • When a record heatwave wiped out national AC stock, I navigated our operational staff and nationwide engineers through the chaos - keeping everyone calm and focused on their roles rather than spiralling. By operating on the front lines to handle frustrated, overheated customers, I turned panic into trust, convincing them to hold their orders and wait for stock rather than cancel, protecting revenue while competitors crumbled.
  • Led operations through every major WarmZilla milestone, from peak winter boiler sales to brand-new service launches.

About Caryl's team

One thing I have learnt throughout my journey is that no manager achieves success alone. Behind every good manager is a team of incredible people, and I am lucky enough to have just that. My team plays such a huge part in everything I do, and I genuinely couldn’t do my job without them. We face challenges, overcome obstacles, have stressful days and plenty of laughs along the way, but no matter what comes our way, we pull together and support one another. Being a manager isn’t just about making decisions or ensuring the job gets done. For me, it’s about supporting my team, helping them grow, recognising their achievements and creating an environment where everyone feels valued and appreciated. I take so much pride in watching my team develop, gain confidence and achieve things they may not have thought possible. Although this award may have my name on it, the achievement belongs to all of us. Every challenge we’ve overcome and every success we’ve celebrated has played a part in getting me to where I am today. I’m incredibly proud to lead such a hardworking, dedicated and supportive team. They make the difficult days worthwhile and the good days even better. I may be their manager, but they inspire me to be a better leader every single day.

The journey

When I first started my journey at WarmZilla, I joined as an Admin Assistant with no previous experience in the industry. I never imagined that one day I would be standing here as an Operations Manager, let alone being recognised for Women’s Manager of the Year. My journey hasn’t always been easy. There have been challenges, difficult decisions, long days and plenty of lessons along the way. But through hard work, determination, resilience and a willingness to learn, I’ve continued to push myself, grow in confidence and become the manager I am today. I’ve learnt that you don’t need to know everything when you start. You just need the determination to learn, the courage to take opportunities and the belief that you can achieve more than you ever thought possible. I’m incredibly proud of how far I’ve come, but even prouder of the people I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside and support throughout my journey. From an Admin Assistant with no experience to an award-winning Operations Manager — if someone had told me that when I first started, I would never have believed them. This journey has taught me that where you start doesn’t define where you can go, and I hope my story inspires other women to believe in themselves and never underestimate what they’re capable of. ❤️🏆

Why your vote matters

Having your support and knowing that people recognise the hard work I’ve put in really does mean so much to me. I started my journey with no experience, working my way from an Admin Assistant to Operations Manager at WarmZilla. There have been challenges, long days and plenty of lessons along the way, but I’ve always given my best. To be nominated is something I never expected, and knowing that people appreciate the effort I’ve put in makes it even more special. Your vote would mean the world to me, and I’m genuinely grateful for every bit of support. ❤️
