KSS provides structural steelwork and engineering services. Diversification has been an important part of our development. Broadening what we do has helped us create new opportunities and build a stronger foundation for the future. My focus is on making that growth purposeful, developing areas where we can deliver real value and supporting them with the right people. Our approach combines practical thinking, a willingness to adapt and pride in the work we deliver. I want customers to see us as a business they can rely on, with a team that understands their needs and takes responsibility for meeting them. Our ambition is to keep growing responsibly while maintaining the quality and personal commitment that matter to our customers.

Building a strong team around me is one of the achievements I’m most proud of. A business needs people who bring different strengths, contribute ideas and support one another. Creating that team has been central to how we have developed, and I’m grateful for the dedication they bring to their work. I believe my role is to give people clear direction, trust and the support to take ownership of what they do. I want everyone to feel valued, to know their contribution matters and to have a part in shaping our future. As we diversify, their skills and commitment help us turn new opportunities into work we can deliver with confidence. My family are also an important part of my journey. Their encouragement, patience and support mean a great deal to me. They help keep me grounded and give me the confidence to keep moving forward through the demands of running and developing a business. These nominations are an opportunity to recognise the people around me—both at work and at home. I’m proud of what we are building together and thankful to everyone who plays a part in it.

My journey has been shaped by learning, adapting and making decisions about the future of the business. One of the most significant steps has been diversifying what we do: looking beyond our existing work, recognising opportunities and committing to a broader direction. Alongside that, I have focused on building a strong team around me. These are closely connected achievements. Developing the business means developing the people and capabilities that support it. I’m proud of the progress we’ve made and of the shared effort behind it. The experience has reinforced my belief that leadership means setting a direction, listening to the people around you and giving them room to contribute. That is the approach I want to carry into the next stage of our journey.
