My role as a cosmetic microbiologist at ISCA consists of testing various cosmetic product for leading cosmetic companies across the globe to ensure that their product meets the requirements of the Cosmetic Product Regulation. The success of our in-house testing lab has led to developing a new branch, ISCA Cosmetic Testing (ICT), where various testing methods and consulting services can be provided to anyone wanting to sell cosmetics. Since being at ISCA and the expansion of ICT I have been able to obtain the knowledge to progress in this field and have been promoted to Cosmetic Microbiology Project Coordinator which involves broadening the services we can offer by researching into new methods of challenge testing, stability testing, vegan testing etc. to provide customers with the best service and information from the very start of their product development until the final stages of obtaining their Product Information File. I graduated with a 2:1 studying Biology (BSc) at Swansea University. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Swansea and grateful for the opportunities that the university has provided me with. In October 2019 I had the amazing opportunity to visit Sikkim, India within an interdisciplinary environment, working alongside, human and physical geographers as well as zoologists and fellow biologists , to produce scientific reports on data collected within the Himalayan region.
