About Connective Family

About Connective Family Founded by Sarah, Connective Family is a specialist social care and training organisation dedicated to supporting families, schools, local authorities, and professionals navigating complex behavioural challenges, neurodivergence, and trauma. Built on the conviction that lasting change comes from emotional safety, compassion, and true connection rather than control or quick-fix discipline, Connective Family equips parents and frontline teams with practical, Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) and somatic trauma-informed tools. From accredited Level 1 to Level 4 training for social workers, youth justice practitioners, family support workers and education staff to intensive 1-to-1 family coaching, Connective Family bridges the gap between lived experience and professional practice, helping reduce crisis points, prevent placement breakdowns, and keep families safely connected.

About Kelly's team

Our Extraordinary Team Behind everything Connective Family achieves is a team of remarkable, dedicated individuals. Led by our founder, Sarah, whose supportive leadership and vision set the tone for everything we do, our team includes Kat, who leads our vital parent work, and Bethan, one of our incredible coaches, alongside our brilliant associate team. Keeping the entire engine running seamlessly is Laura, our business support lead, who holds everything together behind the scenes. We are also delighted to welcome Katie and Elinor, who have recently joined our admin team to support our growing work. What makes our team truly exceptional is that they don't just teach theory, they bring real, frontline experience across social work, special educational needs (SEND), youth offending, therapy and adoption. Combining professional expertise with genuine lived experience, they walk alongside families and practitioners with warmth, empathy, and zero judgment. Every single team member is deeply passionate about creating safe spaces, empowering parents, and supporting professionals to deliver life-changing outcomes. Connective Family simply wouldn't be where it is today without their unwavering commitment, skill, and heart.

The journey

My journey began many years ago at Barnardo's, which laid the foundation for a career dedicated to supporting people through their most challenging times. Over the years, my work has taken me across a wide range of frontline sectors, including children's and adults' disability services, youth and adult substance misuse, youth justice, youth justice parenting support, and education. Working across all these different areas showed me first-hand the life-changing impact that true, compassionate support can have on both families and professionals. It taught me that real progress isn't about rigid systems or quick fixes, but about building genuine trust, emotional safety, and relational connection. Joining Connective Family was the natural continuation of that lifelong path. Today, I bring every lesson learned from those early years on the frontline into my daily work, empowering parents, supporting professionals, and striving every single day to deliver the kind of meaningful, lasting support that every family deserves.
