About Rhianne

My approach is people-centred and grounded in common sense. I believe policies and processes should have a clear purpose, and I will question an approach if the only explanation is “because that’s the process”. Consistency and fairness matter, alongside the judgement to recognise individual circumstances. We are dealing with people, each with their own experiences, needs and challenges, and our decisions need to reflect that. Creating a psychologically safe space for our staff is central to how I work. I want people to feel comfortable asking questions, raising concerns, acknowledging mistakes and saying when they need help. That means being approachable, listening without jumping to conclusions and being willing to hear things that may be difficult to hear. People need to trust that speaking honestly will lead to a fair and respectful conversation. I’m known for being able to challenge others with compassion and respect. I’m equally willing to question my own approach, acknowledge when I get things wrong and learn from those experiences. I recognise that I always have more to learn.

About Unitmovements Ltd

Unitmovements is a logistics and home-delivery business, established in 1997 and based in Cardiff. We provide warehousing, order preparation and two-person home-delivery services. We deliver to customers on behalf of a global brand whose furniture you probably have in your own home, and we are proud to be one of its top three preferred delivery partners. We have sites at Cardiff Hub, Cardiff Store, Bristol Store, Birmingham Store, Dudley, Exeter, Milton Keynes, Reading and Southampton, supported by our central business-support team. We care about giving customers a good service. That means doing the job properly, taking care of their items and homes, keeping them informed and being helpful and respectful. When something goes wrong, we want people to take responsibility and work together to put it right. Our long-serving colleagues have helped shape Unitmovements over the years. We value their experience and loyalty, and promote from within wherever possible, helping people build their confidence and take on new responsibilities. Our teams know one another, look out for each other and step in to help when things get busy or difficult. Our values—UNITY, NURTURE, INTEGRITY and TRUST—reflect what matters to us: working together, supporting people, doing the right thing and being able to rely on one another.

About Rhianne's team

I know that everyone will say that they have the best team, but I really mean it when I talk about mine. We have been through a number of changes over the last few years - first one being, a new manager (me) whilst implementing a new HR system AND transferring in nearly 200 new employees across five new sites. We survived and very comfortably thrived. Julie has been with the business for nearly a decade, she has a forthright and practical approach to problem solving means and gives a lot of heart to the organisation and those she works with. Jess, has been with us just over a year, newly into HR she is bright, determined and savage in her assessment of my many 'ice cube' stories (IYKYK). Chris, has been with the business since day one. He has held many different positions across the business so brings a wealth of operational knowledge, which any good HRBP will tell you, is invaluable when building trust with your stakeholders. He is my go to person for a sense check as I know I can trust his judgement.

In Rhianne's own words

With nearly twenty years of work experience in human resources, I am a passionate and dedicated strategic HR professional. I currently work at Castle School Education Trust, where I support the strategic and operational delivery of HR services across the Trust. I hold a CIPD qualification and a master's degree in Human Resource Management, and I have developed skills in HR, training and development, and performance management. My core competencies include building strong relationships, providing effective coaching and guidance, and implementing best practices and policies. My mission is to empower staff to achieve their full potential and to enable space for psychological safety in organisations by fostering a culture of excellence, diversity, and inclusion. I have previously worked as a Human Resources Business Partner at VINCI Facilities and Superdrug, where I contributed to the improvement of employee engagement, retention, and performance. I am always eager to learn new things, collaborate with others, and take on new challenges.
